Well. In homes with several dogs and cats the Detect Pro keeps up with shed hair and tracked-in dirt, and long hair doesn't wrap around the brush. The XL base holds 60 days of debris, so heavy shedding doesn't mean emptying something every day.

Setup and the first map go smoothly in most homes. Editing that map in the app is clumsier, and there's a report of the RV2820AE getting lost when its battery runs low. The LiDAR map works in any light and adjusts as furniture moves, but expect some fiddling to get rooms right.

Loud, but brief. The RV2820AE's empty cycle lasts about 15 to 20 seconds. The bagless dock lets you choose when it empties, so it doesn't have to go off during a call or while someone's asleep.

It's mixed. EdgeDetect uses air blasts to push debris out of corners, and in some homes the Detect Pro reaches them fine, while in others corners get missed or the robot rubs along the trim. Check the baseboards after the first few runs.

Usually, yes. NeverStuck Technology lifts the RV2820AE over thresholds and rugs, and it generally moves between hard floors and rugs, high pile included. Low rugs are the odd exception, where it has done poorly in at least one home.
