About This Vacuum
A bagless canister with a long reach is what the Aspiron AS-CA006 offers. The cord is up to 20 feet and retracts when you step on a pedal, and Aspiron says that gives it a 33-foot cleaning radius from one outlet. It weighs 13 lb. Aspiron lists a 1600W unit with 40 kPa of suction, cyclone separation and a sealed system with a HEPA-H10 inlet filter and a sponge on the outlet. The dust cup is 4 quarts and washable, so there are no bags. When you're done, the telescopic wand clips onto the back of the body for storage. Aspiron rates it for carpet, hard floors and cars. Cord length is the sticking point: it reaches room to room in some homes, while in others you end up changing outlets more than you want. And none of Aspiron's figures have been checked against the manufacturer's site, so take the suction rating as the company's claim.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. It's light, compact and easy to move around and under furniture, and that comes up again and again. The AS-CA006 weighs 13 lb, and the telescopic wand clips onto the back of the body, so it stores in a closet without taking much room.
Yes. In homes with several shedding dogs it pulls up hair easily without clogging, and with no roller there's nothing for hair to wrap around. The Aspiron AS-CA006 is bagless with a washable dust cup, so a heavy shedding season doesn't mean buying bags.
It depends on your rooms. In some homes the retractable cord reaches from room to room, while in others it's short enough that you change outlets more than you'd want. The AS-CA006 rewinds the cord when you step on a pedal, which at least makes switching outlets quick.
Yes. A suction dial lets you lower the power for washable or light rugs that would otherwise get pulled up, then turn it back up for bare floors. It's one of the features that gets used most on the AS-CA006.
Only with a firm twist. The attachments come off if they aren't seated properly, and in one case the head and tools felt flimsy. Push and twist each tool until it's snug on the AS-CA006's wand before you start, or it may drop off mid-clean.
Aspiron describes a HEPA-H10 inlet filter and an outlet sponge in a sealed system.
