Sebo 9855AM Dart Upright Vacuum

Very deeply. The Sebo 9855AM pulls embedded dirt out of carpet with strong suction, and older carpets often look renewed afterwards. Carpet is where it does its best work, and it's what Sebo lists it for, so it suits a home that's mostly carpeted.

They let you match the head to the floor. The Dart has manual height settings, and getting them right is what lets it handle thick carpet as well as thinner floor coverings. Set it higher for plush pile and lower for flat rugs, and change it as you move between rooms.

Yes. The 9855AM comes across as well made and sturdy, with solid parts that feel built for years of use. Clearing the brush roller needs no tools, and the brush stops with a warning light if it jams, which Sebo says protects the motor and belt.

It depends on the carpet. At 18 lb, the Dart feels light enough to some, but others find it heavy to carry between floors or hard to push on certain carpets. The powerhead detaches for stairs and upholstery, so you don't have to haul the whole machine up every step.

Only okay. The 9855AM does its best work on carpet, and on hard floors the results are described as just adequate, enough that some keep a second vacuum for them. Its rubber wheels at least keep it from marking wood or tile.

Sebo's Aerapure bag system, which seals dust inside the bag for disposal.
