Miele Duoflex Extra Vacuum

Yes. The Miele Duoflex Extra consistently handles dog hair, tracked-in dirt and even spilled potting soil on hard floors and stairs. Suction is the part of this stick that draws the fewest complaints, so if your floors are mostly hard and a pet sheds, it does that job well.

On mostly hard floors, often yes: about 1,800 to 2,000 sq ft gets done in one charge in some homes. On high power or on carpet it drains fast, though. Miele's 55-minute figure applies to power level 1, so a carpet-heavy house on a higher setting will likely need a recharge partway through.

It's split. Some find it light and easy to handle, while others call it heavy and top-heavy for a stick vacuum, which shows most when lifting it to clean above the floor. At 6.9 lb it's worth holding one in a shop first if you have wrist or shoulder trouble.

It's mixed. The Duoflex Extra switches between carpet and hard floor by itself, and that works well in many homes. On light or thin rugs, though, the head can chew the edges or clog, and there's no manual override to stop it. Homes with lots of loose throw rugs should keep that in mind.

Yes. It folds flat to slide under beds and sofas and extends to reach high shelves and ceiling fans. An LED indicator shows how much charge is left.

A washable hygiene filter. Rinse it and let it dry fully before putting it back, and empty the 0.3 L dust bin often, since it's small.
