About This Vacuum
The Intuition BU4022 is a bagged upright with a lift-up trick: press a button and the body comes away from the floor nozzle, so you can use it handheld on stairs and above the floor. Kenmore rates it at 200 W of power in that mode. Bags are where it differs from most uprights. Kenmore's No Touch Bag system releases the bag with one button and the bags self-seal, so there's no cup to empty and nothing spilling out. The PowerFlow bag chamber is designed to keep suction strong as the bag fills. Filtration is HEPA in a sealed system. It weighs 14 lb and has a 30-foot cord, a length checked against Kenmore's site. Pet owners get a 3-in-1 combination tool and a Pet HandiMate, and LED headlights, height adjustments and swivel steering are on the main body. The cost to factor in is the bags, which you'll keep buying for as long as you own it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Suction is strong enough to lift carpet pile and pull up dirt that earlier vacuuming left behind. The Kenmore BU4022 is bagged with a sealed HEPA system, so what it picks up stays inside the bag.
It's easy to push, but tool storage is a weak spot. Most find it light to steer and quick to swivel around furniture. The tools clip onto the back of the Intuition BU4022, and that storage is awkward. Tools can get knocked off as you move around.
Not messy at all. One button releases the bag and the bags self-seal, so there's no dust cloud like you get when emptying a cup. A bag lasts a while, even in homes with a lot of pet hair. The ongoing cost of the Kenmore Intuition is buying more bags.
Yes, with the brush roll off. Turning the brush off lets the BU4022 glide over tile and hardwood without scattering debris or scuffing the finish. Turn it back on when you reach carpet.
Yes. Homes with several dogs and cats find the Kenmore Intuition keeps up with heavy shedding. It also comes with a combination tool and a Pet HandiMate for hair on upholstery, stairs and floors.
Yes. Press a button and the body lifts away from the floor nozzle, so you can use it handheld on stairs and other above-floor spots.
