Kenmore 500 Series Bagless Canister Vacuum with Hair Eliminator Brushroll

Kenmore's 500 Series canister (DC5070.01) is a bagless, corded machine with two motors and a brushroll that removes hair by itself. Kenmore calls that the Hair Eliminator, and the point is you're not cutting fur off the roller with scissors. The cord is 24 feet long and rewinds automatically. Add the telescoping wand and Kenmore says you get 9 feet of reach, enough for ceilings and the tops of curtains. The handle detaches for furniture, car interiors and tight spaces. Debris goes into a transparent dust cup, and there's a HEPA filter that Kenmore rates at 99.97% of dust down to 0.3 microns. Now the downside. It weighs 19.2 lb, and carrying that up a flight of stairs is real work. Kenmore doesn't give a dust cup size in our data either, so we can't say how often you'll empty it.
