iRobot ® Roomba® j9+ Self-Emptying Robot Vacuum

It's mixed. The Roomba j9+ often maps quickly and accurately and lets you control cleaning room by room, but some units later get lost, skip areas or head to the wrong room. That tends to show up after the first runs, so keep an eye on the cleaning history in the app for the first few weeks.

Mostly. In homes with dogs and cats the j9+ generally keeps pace with daily shedding on hard floors and rugs, though in one case it barely picked up dog hair. It uses dual rubber brushes, and iRobot's P.O.O.P. promise covers a free replacement if it fails to avoid pet waste, on iRobot's terms.

Well on both. Pickup on wood floors is solid, and the iRobot j9+ steps its suction up when it rolls onto a rug, which several households notice straight away. iRobot doesn't publish a Pa figure, so there's no suction number to go on, only how it does on your floors.

Yes, setup through the app is easy, and no-go zones and scheduling on the Roomba j9+ get regular use. Fine-tuning a schedule takes some learning, though. Dirt Detective in iRobot OS also learns from past runs and sends the robot to dirtier rooms first, adjusting suction and passes as it goes.

Up to 180 minutes on a charge, per its spec listing. It's the self-emptying version, so it unloads its bin at the base.
