About This Vacuum
The Dyson V8 Animal+ is a cordless vacuum for pet-owning households. Its digital motor drives stiff nylon bristles through the Direct Drive cleaner head to work into carpet fibers, while whole-machine HEPA filtration captures allergens and microscopic particles. At 5.72 lb, it's light enough to move between rooms. The trigger-release design conserves battery by running only when squeezed. Runtime reaches 40 minutes with non-motorized tools, or 8 minutes in MAX mode for heavy-duty spots. The kit includes a Mini Motorhead for upholstery and pet beds, Combo Tool for switching surfaces, Crevice Tool for baseboards and tight spaces, Soft Dusting Brush for delicate items, and an Up Top Adapter for high shelves and ceiling fans. The bin empties in one action and contains hair and debris cleanly. Battery life depends on mode and surface type. Hard floors with basic tools run longer; motorized heads on thick carpets drain the battery faster. Initial charge takes 4 hours.
Frequently Asked Questions
Fast: about 6 to 10 minutes. Regular mode lasts about 20 to 40 minutes depending on the tool, enough for a room or more, and recharging takes about 3 to 4 hours. Save MAX on the V8 Animal+ for stubborn patches and leave it in regular mode for the rest.
Usually. Pickup on carpet and hard floors is strong for a cordless stick, but regular mode can feel weak on some floors, with only MAX getting close to corded power. That's why the V8 Animal+ battery question matters: the strongest setting is also the shortest.
Yes. It's light and easy to carry and steer around the home and car, including for anyone with limited grip strength. The Dyson V8 Animal+ weighs 5.72 lb, though the trigger has to stay squeezed while it runs, which is worth trying before a long session.
A Mini Motorhead, Combo Tool, Crevice Tool, Soft Dusting Brush and an Up Top Adapter. Switching between them is quick, which makes the V8 Animal+ easy to take from upholstery to crevices to the car in a single session without stopping to hunt for the right part.
In one action. The bin holds 0.53 liters and keeps hair and debris contained as it empties, and the whole machine has HEPA filtration.
