BLACK+DECKER dustbuster Cordless Handheld Vacuum

Not long. It's listed at 15 minutes, and in daily use it lands around 5 to 15 minutes per charge depending on the job. That suits quick pickups, not a full room. Recharging is slow, about 16 hours for a full charge, and a dustbuster left unused for a while can lose its charge.

No. The dustbuster has no light for charge level or for when charging is done, and several wish it did. Without one, it can die mid-job with no warning. Leaving it on the wall-mount charging base between uses is the simplest way to make sure it's ready when you grab it.

Yes, for its size. The dustbuster picks up more than its small body suggests, from sand and pebbles on car floor mats to pet and human hair. The wide mouth takes larger bits like cereal. It's still a hand vacuum, so it's for spot jobs, and the short battery sets the pace.

Yes, in short bursts. Car interiors, stairs and pet hair are where the HHVI315JO42 gets used most, and it handles those small jobs well. The crevice tool reaches between seats and cushions. On a long staircase covered in fur, the battery is the limit, so plan to do it in rounds.

Often several. Earlier units of this dustbuster have lasted about 1 to 6 years before the battery or the suction faded, and some people simply buy the same model again when that happens. Battery life is what usually goes first, so expect the run time to shrink as it ages.

The dirt bowl is removable and translucent, so you can see when it's full, and there's no bag. The bowl and filters rinse clean and go back in for reuse.
