Bissell CleanView Max Tangle-Free, LED Headlights, Extension Wand 4072L | Active extension wand for above-floor reach; pet tools included; max suction; tangle-free brush roll

A lot. The CleanView Max lifts a large amount of dirt and hair out of carpet, and the 1 L cup can fill quickly on a rug that hasn't been done in a while. It's a corded upright built around carpet, and that's where it does its best work.

Yes. The LED headlights on the CleanView Max light up dust, crumbs and hair along the floor ahead of the head, so you see what's there instead of guessing. They make the biggest difference under furniture and in dim rooms, where it's easy to miss a patch and only notice it later.

Yes. Homes with cats and dogs get plenty of pet hair out of the carpet with the CleanView Max, and the tangle-free brush roll stays mostly clear of wrapped hair, so there's little cutting or picking at the roller. Long hair can still catch now and then, but it's an occasional job, not one after every clean.

Mostly well. The extension wand and pet tool make stairs, sofas and other furniture easy to reach from the CleanView Max, and that above-floor reach is one of its strengths. The small turbo tool is the weak link: press it hard into carpet or upholstery and it bogs down, so it needs a lighter touch.

Mostly. The cup on the CleanView Max is roomy and usually tips out cleanly, but hair and fine debris can cling to the inside and have to be pulled out by hand. Emptying it before it's packed full, and giving it a shake over the bin, keeps that clean-up shorter.

It depends on the layout. The CleanView Max has a 25 ft cord, which is plenty in some homes and short in others with fewer outlets. It doesn't retract, either, so it has to be wound up by hand after each clean, which is a small chore that some would rather skip.
