About This Vacuum
When you finish with the Bissell CleanView Max Tangle-Free Rewind (4073L), you press a button and the cord winds itself back in. That's the Rewind part of the name, and it's handy on a corded upright you'll be pulling out and putting away often. Bissell aims it at homes with pets. The brush roll is the tangle-free type, LED headlights show dirt under furniture and in dark corners, and swivel steering helps it around obstacles. A quick-release extension wand is always attached, so going from floor to the top of a bookshelf doesn't mean hunting for a hose. Our spec data lists a foam filter, and Bissell rates it for carpet, hard floors and furniture. It weighs 17.9 lb, which is heavy for carrying upstairs. We don't have a cord length or a dust cup size for this model either, so we can't tell you how far it reaches or how often you'll empty it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Mostly. The automatic rewind is the 4073L's most praised feature, winding the cord back in at the press of a button. One unit retracted its cord mid-use and then jammed, so if yours starts tugging back while you clean, keep an eye on it.
Usually. It often pulls a lot of dog hair and dirt out of carpet, helped by its tangle-free brush roll. One found it pushed hair around instead of picking it up, though, so slow down on heavily matted spots.
It's split. At 17.9 lb, some carry the 4073L up the stairs without trouble, while others find it heavy, and it can be hard to push on thick carpet. If you'd be hauling it between floors every week, that weight adds up.
Yes. The LED headlights on the 4073L show debris under furniture and in dark corners that would otherwise get missed, which is useful when you're chasing pet hair along the baseboards. Swivel steering helps you point the head, and the light, into awkward spots around chair legs.
Yes. The quick-release extension wand is always attached and ready for high and low spots.
