Yes. At 3.7 lb it's light enough for almost anyone to handle, and the low swivel head slides under beds and sofas without moving them. That makes the VSJ01 handy for quick passes in rooms where a full-size vacuum is a chore to drag around.

It can. A common complaint is the plastic cracking where the wand joins the body, sometimes within days or weeks of use. Treat that joint gently, and keep the box and receipt until you're sure your VSJ01 is a sound one.

No. It won't stand on its own and there's no cord wrap, so between uses it has to lie flat, hang from a hook or lean against a wall, and the cord gets wound by hand. A wall hook by the door where you keep the VSJ01 sorts out most of that.

Well on bare floors. It clears tumbleweeds of cat and dog hair from tile and wood, and since there's no brushroll, there's nothing for hair to wrap around and nothing to cut free. On carpet the VSJ01 is much less help with hair.
