Shark Pet Cordless Stick Vacuum IX141

Only with the boost trigger held. On hardwood the Shark IX141 works well, but several households say it lacks the power to clean deep into carpet on its normal setting. Holding boost pulls up a lot more from mats and carpet, at the cost of battery.

Anywhere from about 15 to 40 minutes, depending on boost. On lower settings the IX141 runs close to its 40-minute rating and covers a floor or most of a house. Frequent boost use drains it much faster, toward the bottom of that range.

Yes. At 6.9 lb, the IX141 is quick to grab and easy to steer into tight spots and up stairs, and that ease means it gets used more often. The hand vac detaches for couch cushions, stairs and car seats with the crevice and brush tools.

Often in a pet home. The IX141's bottom trap door empties easily over a bin, but the 0.32-liter cup fills quickly with fur, so expect to stop mid-clean. Occasionally the cup or wand has to come off before it will empty properly.

No. The IX141 won't stand by itself, so it ends up leaned against a wall or wedged between cabinets, and a rubber strip on the handle helps it stay put. If you want it parked out of the way, plan for a corner or a wall mount.

Mostly. The IX141 lifts cat and dog hair and litter from carpet and couches in most pet homes, though litter pickup isn't always reliable. The Pet Multi-Tool helps on upholstery, and the boost trigger helps on rugs where litter gets trodden in.
