About This Vacuum
With the hose pulled out, the Shark Navigator Swivel Pro (NV151) reaches up to 11 feet, which covers stairs, curtains and the tops of furniture without a separate machine. It's a corded upright weighing 13.1 lb, with swivel steering to get it in and out of corners and around furniture legs. Shark puts its Anti-Allergen Complete Seal on this model along with a HEPA filter, and both the HEPA and foam filters are washable. For pet homes there's a Pet Power Brush for hair on furniture and carpet. A crevice tool and an upholstery tool are included as well. The catch is consistency. Most of the time it pulls a lot of dirt out of rugs and floors, but a couple of units have felt weak even on max and needed several passes. And 13.1 lb is fine to push, but it's still a full upright when you carry it upstairs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Usually, yes. The NV151 pulls a lot of dirt out of rugs and bare floors, and that's the most common finding by far. A couple of units felt weak even on max and needed several passes, though, so if yours struggles, check the filters and hose for a blockage first.
Well. The swivel steering lets the Navigator Swivel Pro glide around chair legs and into corners, and it comes across as easy to move and to carry for a 13.1 lb upright. Tight rooms full of furniture are where that steering earns its keep.
Yes. On carpet and rugs the NV151 keeps up with heavy shedding from dogs and cats without clogging. For hair on the couch or stairs, the Pet Power Brush that comes with it handles the above-floor part of the job.
Easy. The dust cup on the Navigator Swivel Pro releases cleanly and empties without you reaching in, and it holds a fair amount between trips to the bin, so a whole-floor clean rarely means stopping halfway to empty it. Hold it over the bin, release the cup, and that's the whole job.
Yes. The long hose and lift-off handle on the NV151 reach stairs, ceilings and the tops of furniture without hauling the whole machine around, which is handy given it's a full-size upright. Pair the hose with the crevice or upholstery tool for those spots.
Yes. It has washable HEPA and foam filters, so you rinse them instead of buying replacements regularly.
