About This Vacuum
The Hoover Commercial PORTAPOWER is a lightweight canister vacuum built for detail work, above-floor cleaning, and commercial use. A 33-foot cord keeps you plugged in longer during extended jobs. The shoulder strap and compact frame fit into stairs, tight corners, and spaces where uprights won't go. The built-in blower reverses airflow to clear dust from electronics, workshops, and hard-to-reach spots. The stretch hose reaches into car interiors, upholstery, draperies, and overhead vents. Seven attachments handle everything from dusting to carpet cleaning. It works well in commercial settings, workshops, auto detailing shops, and homes that need frequent above-floor cleaning. Filtration is a cloth filter. As a corded model, you get unlimited runtime but need to unplug and move for larger spaces. Choose this vacuum if you want consistent power and specialized cleaning tools over cordless convenience.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, for a small canister. It handles dust and plenty of dog hair on floors and furniture. The PORTAPOWER is rated at 1200 W, and its built-in blower reverses airflow for clearing dust out of electronics and corners.
Yes. It's light enough to carry by the shoulder strap, which makes the Hoover PORTAPOWER handy on stairs and for above-floor jobs like vents, drapes and car interiors. At 8.36 lb it's meant to hang off you while you work.
About 6 to 10 years of regular use before the motor gives out. That's long enough that some have bought the PORTAPOWER again after wearing one out.
It's mixed. The reusable cloth bag is easy to empty and clean, but it isn't a disposable paper bag, and that catches out anyone expecting to throw bags away. With the Hoover PORTAPOWER you empty and reuse the same bag.
Sometimes. The long cord gives good reach around a room or a vehicle, but a few find it tangles constantly. Coiling the PORTAPOWER cord loosely after each job helps.
Yes. It comes with a set of attachments including a crevice tool and dusting brush for hard-to-reach areas, plus a stretch hose for car interiors, upholstery and overhead vents.
