Dyson V12 Detect Slim Cordless Vacuum

Yes. The V12 Detect Slim cleans well on both hardwood and thick carpet, dog hair included. It's rated at 150 AW, and the Motorbar head clears wrapped hair from its brush bar as it goes, which helps in a home with a shedding dog.

It can be very hard. Several find the wand so stiff to detach from the main body that emptying the bin and swapping tools become a struggle. If you plan to switch to handheld mode often, that's the part to try first.

Not for long. The 0.35-liter bin is small and fills fast with a shedding pet around, so expect to stop and empty it during bigger jobs. In a small house it's less of an issue, but with that stiff wand, each stop takes a little effort.

Yes. At 5.2 lb the V12 is slim, light and easy to move, including up and down stairs, and it converts to a handheld for the steps themselves, the car and upholstery. A hair screw tool comes in the box for pet hair on fabric.

The Laser Slim Fluffy head is for hard floors and lights up dust you'd otherwise miss, and the Motorbar head handles carpet and hard floors with anti-tangle technology. An LCD screen shows particle counts, runtime and power mode in auto mode.

Up to 60 minutes on a charge, and a full recharge takes 4 hours. The filter is washable, and Dyson says it lasts the lifetime of the machine.
