About This Vacuum
The L40s Ultra AE is Dreame's robot vacuum and mop with a dock that takes on most of the upkeep. Dreame says the PowerDock base empties dust for up to 100 days, washes the mop pads with 149°F water, dries them with hot air and refills the robot's water. Suction is quoted at 19,000 Pa. Two brushes share the work: a TriCut brush that cuts long hair and a liftable rubber brush for debris in floor gaps and carpet. On rugs the mop lifts up to 10.5 mm, and you can also set suction boost or have it avoid carpet zones altogether. MopExtend pushes the pad out toward edges and under furniture, and 3D obstacle avoidance covers over 120 object types such as cables and socks. Our record lists a 180-minute runtime and a 30 lb weight, and the listing doesn't say whether that weight includes the dock. It needs 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and is sold for US use only. Filtration is foam.
Frequently Asked Questions
Sometimes. Mapping on the L40s Ultra AE is quick and accurate in many homes, but there are three reports of the robot spinning, losing its way or corrupting its map, some only after months of use. This is a problem that can show up late rather than on day one.
Very clean. It handles hardwood, rugs and low-pile carpet well, and the mopping turns out better than expected. Dreame quotes 19,000 Pa of suction for the L40s Ultra AE, and the liftable rubber brush pulls debris out of floor gaps while the TriCut brush cuts long hair.
Very little. The dock empties the bin, refills the robot's water and washes the mop pads, and Dreame says it holds up to 100 days of dust and washes pads with 149°F water. In one case water use crept up over time, so keep an eye on how fast the L40s drains its tank.
No. The L40s recognises rugs and carpet and skips mopping them. Dreame adds that the mop lifts up to 10.5 mm on carpet, and the app can boost suction on carpet or keep the robot out of carpet zones altogether.
Mostly. Setup and room scheduling for the L40s Ultra AE are easy, though one report calls the app basic and awkward. Dreame says the robot supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi only, so a 5 GHz-only router won't work, and it's sold for use in the United States only.
Yes. Homes with shedding dogs get the fur lifted without the brush tangling, thanks to the TriCut brush that cuts long hair. Dreame also says the L40s Ultra AE detects and avoids pet-related objects, and the robot supports video calls and two-way voice.
